"I Did Not Lose $10m to Girlfriend" - Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa
The Delta State Government on Sunday distanced the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, from an online report linking him with a report that a serving governor from the South-South geopolitical zone was defrauded of $10m by a girlfriend.
The money, it was reported, was part of the bailout given to the state by the Federal Government to offset workers’ salaries but most of the workers are still being owed.
The state Commissioner for Information, Patrick Ukah, in a statement on behalf of the government, stressed that there was no iota of truth in the story that it was Okowa who lost $10m to a girlfriend.
A report on Saturday quoted sources in the EFCC that a serving governor in the South-South zone allegedly diverted $10m from the bailout for his state.
The report, which did not actually specify the name of the governor, stated that the governor was already under probe by the EFCC after $10m was allegedly hijacked by his America-based mistress.
However, a follow-up report by an online medium accused Okowa as the one defrauded of the sum.
Ukah stated, “We are appalled by the attempt to link Governor Okowa with the story by online media. We find it ridiculously tasteless and mischievous.
This can only be part of the unrelenting campaign of calumny and the ceaseless peddling of pernicious propaganda against the person and the office of the Delta State Governor.
“For the record, the state government has several times in the past given account of how the bailout the state got from the Federal Government was used. We will not repeat ourselves here.
“Governor Okowa is a responsible family man and a well respected public figure.
“His preoccupation has been and continues to be how to deliver on his promised S.M.A.R.T agenda to the good people of Delta State since he came to office. And he has received applause and commendations from far and near for being so focused and unrelenting in the pursuit of his vision for the state".
The statement warned that if “those who are bent on carrying out their devious and dubious campaign of calumny against the governor refuse to stop this infamous trade of theirs, we reserve the right to take any action deemed appropriate to seek redress".
So, who's the Niger Delta governor who was duped by a girlfriend of his people's money?

Famous Nollywood Actress, Amanda Ebeye, Says Her Husband is a Shameless Pretender
When a young lady begins to rant that marriage is not for everybody, just know she's not having it good in her relationship. When an old lady is ranting that she's not interested in marriage, know that the men she met while younger couldn't keep up with her craps.
So, don't allow yourself to be confused by what people post on social media; it's their person issues. Let them fix their lives, things will get better and their rantings will end. *smiles*
It was a shock to many when actress Amanda Ebeye, whose mum remarried last year, had a baby, as nobody knew about her being in a relationship let alone, getting married.
In an exclusive chat with Saturday Beats, the actress gave reasons why she did not get married to the father of her child. Her words:
"I did not marry the father of my child because he is not my husband and he is not meant to be. I could have been in the most useless relationship right now if I wanted but I told myself instead of giving my son this shameless pretender and liar of a man as a father, I would take care of him and he will be fine. I tell you that since I took that stance, I’ve not looked back for one day and God keeps giving me the strength to move on.
If it is God’s, one day a good man will come and you’ll be invited to my wedding but for now, I’m single and all that matters to me is my son".

WISDOM FOR THE MARRIED
A strong marriage is only realized by those that continue to respect, care and pray for each other, especially in moments when they struggle to even like each other. Love is a decision, not a feeling. - Isaac.
True love says,... You may disappoint me, frustrate me, and annoy me, but I choose to love you, respect you and care for you anyway. True love is, "for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
That is why marriage is not for people that easily quit. If you're a quitter you will always find countless reasons to quit and walk away. But those that endure the tough times will always enjoy the good times ahead. Press on! Don't quit. It often gets sweaty and bitter before it gets sweet and better.
Today alot of marriages are falling off due to the wrong use of the social media. Social Media Can Ruin Your Marriage: Marriage is holy. Don’t let your online relationships ruin your holy relationship. Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber & text messaging etc. can negatively affect your marriage. Couples can be in one room yet be in different worlds. If not managed properly; computers, smartphones & social media can overthrow your spouse, dominate your marriage & control your life.
Stay in control of your gadgets. Don’t let them control you. Your marriage needs to be the most important relationship in your life. Communicating with your spouse should take priority over any relationship you might have with all other people. Safeguard your marriage by avoiding secrecy. Out of mutual respect & for accountability’s sake, share your passwords with your spouse. Transparency builds trust & trust is the foundation on which successful marriages are built. “The two shall be one.” - Genesis 2:24.
